Charles Harris was born in Ryton on Tyne and lived in Chopwell
A pre war territorial in the 1st/ 9th he landed in France on the 20th of April 1915 and thus also entitled to a 1914/15 Star. He was sadly killed in action on the 15th of July 1915 near the Kemmel Hill Sector Trenches, Ypres (Ieper), Belgium. He is remembered on the Menin gate.
