1914/15 Trio to 7/1082 Pte J W Carson Northd Fus / from Alnwick / wounded
James Wilfred Carson was born in Alnwick, Northumberland. He was a house painter by trade.
Carson was a pre-war territorial, he joined the Northumberland Fusiliers in 1911. He went to France on 21st April 1915 and was wounded in action on 26th April 1915 during the Second Battle of Ypres. Sustaining gunshot wounds to his arms and hands.
He was evacuated to England, upon recovery he went back to France on 2nd of September 1915. Carson was discharged on 22nd of March 1916 ‘Termination of Engagement’
